The VFTCB launched a video featuring the official mascot of Montgomery County, Monty the Fox, taking back his weekend with #MakeItMontco! Image via YouTube.

The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board and Howlite Creative teamed up to help get Montgomery County smiling, writes Social Media Manager Sam Cummons for the VFTCB.

On Wednesday, October 21st, the VFTCB published a social media video featuring the official mascot of Montgomery County, Monty the Fox, taking back his weekend and showcasing the incredible, family-friendly things you can still do in the county during these trying times.

The video promotes the tourism board’s #MakeItMontco Hotel Package which grants guests access to a wide variety of exclusive savings – a $300 value – at the best restaurants, entertainment and premiere attractions when they book a stay at any participating Montgomery County hotel.

Filming took place at participating partners’ locations like LEGOLAND Discovery Center, the Colebrookdale Railroad, and the Courtyard by Marriott Lansdale.

Special appearances were made by local mascot favorites, Jay Jay of the John James Audubon Center, and Bubby the Bison of the Elmwood Park Zoo, to help get viewers excited about the Montco attractions.

“There’s a lot of negativity dominating social media feeds these days. We wanted to create something that would help to put smiles on users’ faces and be that source of positivity so many of us are in need of,” said Samantha Cummons, VFTCB Social Media Manager.

“I think we could all use a mental health day (or two) and this hotel package gives us all an opportunity to escape for the weekend without breaking the bank.”
