After nearly two decades of leading Bryn Mawr Hospital, part of Main Line Health, Andi Gilbert is retiring as president at the end of the year, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

“Bryn Mawr Hospital has been a pillar of the community for generations,” said Gilbert. “I consider myself very fortunate to be a part of its history and to have had the privilege of serving our patients and community.”

Gilbert joined the hospital in 2000 as a senior vice president and was named president in 2002. Previously, she served as CEO of City Avenue Hospital.

Gilbert will leave behind a “remarkable legacy,” said Main Line Health CEO Jack Lynch.

Under her leadership, the hospital has established many important facilities and patient care services. These include Bryn Mawr Avenue Medical Office Building, Main Line Health Newtown Square, Barbara Brodsky Comprehensive Breast Center, and the Interventional Stroke Program.

The Dee Adams Center for Integrative and Regenerative Medicine, another campus addition, is expected to open next year.

Main Line Health has already launched a nation-wide search for her successor.
