Bryn Mawr’s Kat Dennings Reprises Her ‘Thor’ Role in Bizarre ‘What If…?’ Episode

Bryn Mawr native Kat Dennings reprised her role from the popular Marvel movie Thor in a bizarre episode of the animated show What If…?, where she has a child with Howard the Duck, writes Chris Compendio for the Philly Voice.

The actress appeared in all three Thor movies as well as the series WandaVision as Darcy Lewis. The What If…? episode is her first leading role in the franchise. The third season of the show streamed on Disney+ on Christmas Day.

The animated series explores hypothetical situations in the MCU, and the Dennings-led episode had one of the most outlandish premises. It follows her character after she marries Howard the Duck in the first season.

The story starts with Darcy giving birth by laying an egg during a major cosmic event. This makes the egg interesting to several factions, including space pirates and evil sorcerers, who want to use it for nefarious purposes. This leads the new parents on an adventure across the galaxy to save their child.

Outside of her MCU role, Dennings will be back on the airwaves in January in her new sitcom Shifting Gears with Tim Allen.
