Audrey Greenberg, co-founder of The Discovery Labs, a sprawling life sciences complex in King of Prussia, is one of the Philadelphia region’s Power Women 2020, writes Lisa Dukart for the Main Line Today.

The Discovery Labs complex totals more than 1.6 million square feet and provides biotech startups with more than enough space to effectively conceive, develop, and produce cutting-edge cell and gene therapies.

Greenberg discovered some of the region’s medical innovations during her time as an MBA student at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

“I became increasingly drawn to starting a business that contributed to the greater social good,” she said.

So she decided she wanted to help companies that do groundbreaking work. However she ended up struggling through the FDA’s arduous approval process “streamline the path to approval” through supporting manufacturing and funding, as well as acquiring the right equipment, processes, and people.

This process ultimately ensures treatments are more affordable for patients because “companies are able to utilize their capital for innovation rather than infrastructure and manufacturing,” said Greenberg.
