In a new online series, Montgomery County Community College students and members of the community will have the opportunity to get a unique look at the workforce ahead of them.

“Prof Talks” is an interdisciplinary, interactive, online interview series that features diverse professionals from a wide array of industries to help students gain new insights into their own academic and career journeys.

“This is an active learning experience where students will be able to ask questions and hear how our speakers established and achieved their goals, how they overcame obstacles, and the lessons they learned along the way,” said Dr. Stephanie Nnadi, Biology Instructor, who is co-leading the series with Amanda M. Leftwich, Student Success Librarian.

The first guest speaker will be Dr. Nnadi’s sister, Olivia Nnadi, who holds a B.A. and M.Eng in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, and completed her MBA at Harvard Business School.

After working as a process design engineer at Kraft Foods & Mondelez where she commercialized over a dozen new products, Olivia is now a Manager in Deal Advisory & Strategy Practice at KPMG and specializes in innovation, growth, and business operations and strategy.

“This is in an informal interview format. Our hope is that our students can relate to our speakers and encourage our students to persevere in their own academic and professional journeys at MCCC and beyond.”

The first virtual discussion will be held over Zoom on Friday, Sept. 25 at 12:30 PM. Students, faculty, staff, and members of the community are invited to the free event, but registration is required.
