For Hatboro Dentist, Coronavirus Reaffirmed His Love for His Job
Having to close his Hatboro dental practice for two months due to the coronavirus pandemic reaffirmed something important for Dr. Larry Krevitz, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
“I love what I do,” he said.
What he enjoys most about his profession are his staff, his patients, and the mix of art and science that helps him solve somebody’s dental issues and helps them feel better about their looks.
Reopening the business was not easy, Krevitz said. He consulted with his colleagues, read articles in dental journals, and watched webinars to develop a serious of safety protocols. It even took him weeks to find the appropriate personal protection and office isolation equipment.
“The total outlay is easily in the tens of thousands [of dollars] and still growing as I find more secure methods of protecting my staff and patients — all while not making a penny since mid-March,” he said.
The practice reopened on May 27, with all eight staff members returning to work.
But despite the disruption, Krevitz is not worried about surviving.
“In the end, I’ll manage,” he said.
