Hatboro Dish is helping those who need it the most in this difficult time by providing them with free meals with help from the local community, writes Vittoria Woodill for CBS Philly.

“People are coming,” said Hatboro Dish owner Jackie Evangelista. “They’re calling every day, asking if we’re giving out free meals.”

The meals are provided two nights a week by the restaurant bolstered by donations of food and money made from Hatboro residents and other local businesses.

“Whatever anyone has dropped off, we’re giving out,” said Evangelista.

The eatery is also offering family meal packs to those who can afford it which helps pay for a lot of free meals.

The need for this becomes more pressing each day and recently, Hatboro Dish gave out 350 meals in a single day. Evangelista said she will continue providing the meals as long as donations keep arriving.

“There’s always people in need during a time of crisis and that yes, we need to take precautions for ourselves, but don’t forget the people that really need help during this difficult time,” she said.
