Montgomery County COVID-19 Tuesday Morning Update – April 7th

Based on the information found on state and county’s COVID-19 website and the Commissioner’s Monday afternoon press conference, here is quick snapshot of the spread of coronavirus across Montgomery County, the Delaware Valley and Pennsylvania.

As of 10:00 AM Monday morning, Montgomery County reported 145 new COVID-19 cases. 

The new positive COVID-19 cases are from 43 municipalities, two of which, East Greenville (1) and Green Lane (1), reported their first cases.

A breakdown of Monday’s reported new positive cases follows:

  • Age Range: 9 – 110
  • Age Brackets: (1) 0 – 9, (2) 10 – 19, (18) 20 – 29, (24) 30 – 39, (35) 40 – 49, (31) 50 – 59, (20) 60 – 69, (9) 70 – 79, (4) 80 – 89, (0) 90 – 99, (0) 100 – 109, (1) 110 – 119
  • Gender: 65 females, 72 males
  • Hospitalized: (3) No, (139) Unknown, (3) Yes

The 145 new positive cases brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 1,134 countywide.

Of those 1,134 confirmed cases countywide, 549 are male, 557 are female.

The average age of individuals with COVID-19 is 50.1 years old with the youngest patient being a 1-month-old baby and a 110 Abington man, the oldest.

Fiftynine of the county’s 62 municipalities are home to at least one individual with a positive COVID-19 diagnosis.

Five new coronavirus related death were reported in Montgomery County on Monday, moving the County’s COVID-19 death toll to 27, 16.7-percent of the 162 deaths attributed to the coronavirus statewide.

The County’s total number of reported cases represent 8.7-percent of the 12,980 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases across Pennsylvania.

By comparison, as of noon Monday, with the exception of Philadelphia County, and now Lehigh County, with 3,611 and 1,006 cases respectively, neighboring and surrounding counties all have fewer positive COVID-19 cases than does Montgomery County:
