Based on the information found on state and county’s COVID-19 website and the Commissioner’s Saturday afternoon press release, here is a snapshot of the spread of coronavirus across Montgomery County, the Delaware Valley and Pennsylvania.
As of 10:00 AM Saturday morning, Montgomery County reported 201 new COVID-19, up 90 cases from the 111 new cases reported Friday.
The large increase in positive test results, the highest number of new positive cases reported in the six weeks of daily reporting by the county, include the first results from the re-opened community-based testing site on April 16.
According to Dr. Valerie A. Arkoosh, Chair, Montgomery County Board of Commissioners, the large numbers, “demonstrate the importance of testing to understand the spread of the virus in our community.”
The 201 new cases, 114 of which were females, came from 40 municipalities and range in age from 18 to 104 years-old and fall in the following age brackets:
- 0 to 9 – 3
- 10 to 19 – 1

The 201 new positive cases brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 2,623 countywide.

The average age of individuals with COVID-19 across the county is 55.5 years-old with the youngest patient being a 1-month-old baby and a 110 year-old Abington man, the oldest.
Sixtyone of the county’s 62 municipalities are home to at least one individual with a positive COVID-19 diagnosis.
Of those 61 municipalities, only one, Bryn Athyn Borough in the county’s southeast corner, reports zero cases of COVID-19.
Four of the County’s 62 municipalities – Lower Merion (274), Cheltenham (209) Springfield (206), and Abington, account for 880 (33.5%) of the positive cases countywide.
