The Montgomery County Community College men’s basketball team leadership highlights the importance of inspiring a team to reach its potential every day.

Thanks to its amazing leadership, the Montgomery County Community College men’s basketball team achieved an incredibly successful regular season which it crowned by earning a spot in the National Junior College Athletic Association championship tournament.

The team was led by Head Coach Nyere Miller, his staff, and team leaders such as sophomores Cameron Reid, Seth Compas, and Ryan Black.

All of them demonstrate not only the value of leadership each day but also the importance of inspiring a team to reach its potential.

In recognition of this success, Miller, who is finishing his second year as a coach, was named Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Coach of the Year as well as NJCAA Coach of the Year for North Atlantic District in Division III basketball.

“That’s a testament to the guys, my coaching staff,” said Miller. “It’s not just me. It’s a group effort.”

Adding that while it his job is to manage and ensure that people are in the right positions, “but they are the ones who execute and get things done.”

In return, the team responds well to his enthusiasm for the game and the players respect him.

“He pushes us to be our best,” said Black, “and make sure we reach our potential.”
