Sara Mettin, longtime ballet performer and choreographer, is the new Artistic Associate of Metropolitan Ballet Company in Jenkintown PA according to Broadway World.
Metropolitan Ballet Company and Academy is a dance studio for pre-professional dancers. Mettin began her training with Metropolitan’s Founder and acting Artistic Director, Lisa Collins Vidnovic, at the age of eight.
Since then she has studied at SUNY Purchase Dance Conservatory, Rotterdamse Dans Academie in the Netherlands, and just recently graduated with an MS in Arts Management from Drexel University.
As a performer, Mettin has participated in works by leading choreographers. She choreographed her first piece in the Netherlands in 2009 and founded her own dance company in 2011, called Mettin Movement.
Mettin has choreographed ten original pieces for Metropolitan, one of which won the Regional Dance America Festival Monticello Award.
“I am thrilled to be building on Metropolitan’s strong classical training by expanding our offerings in Contemporary training, choreography and performance,” says Mettin.
