After raising $30 million in Series C funding, human resources tech firm Phenom People plans to expand its presence at both its Ambler headquarters and internationally, writes Michelle Caffrey for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The company plans to hire 75 new employees in Ambler in the next year thanks to the investment. Meanwhile, it may also be considering an initial public offering.

This latest funding brings the company’s total capital raised to $61 million, a funding level achieved by a few local tech startups.

WestBridge Capital, an international venture capital firm, led the latest funding round.

It was joined by Growth Stage Capital Group, as well as previous investors AXA Venture Partners, Sierra Ventures, Omidya Technology Ventures, Sigma Prime Ventures, and Karlani Capital.

The software platform from Phenom People uses artificial intelligence technologies to help improve the recruiting and hiring process for companies and also aids the way they engage with employees.

The platform uses the huge amounts of data it has collected and acquired to help its algorithms personalize job postings for candidates and provide scores to hiring managers on how well a candidate fits the position, among other capabilities.
