Four Montgomery County schools are among the Top 500 STEM High Schools in the nation for 2020, writes Nancy Cooper for Newsweek.

The Hill School in Pottstown ranked highest among Montgomery County schools at No. 142.

Harriton Senior High School in Rosemont is next at No. 406, followed by The Haverford School at No. 428.

The list is rounded off by Lower Merion High School in Ardmore at No. 455.

A good science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education has grown in importance over the years. The STEM skills only possessed by specialists today will be expected of nearly everybody in the future American workforce.

These skills are best adopted at an early age, as children are natural STEM students with their incisive curiosity and desire to explore. It is very important to nurture that early drive and creativity to ensure they are not lost along the way.

To highlight the best schools that can ensure those qualities are preserved and built upon, Newsweek partnered with STEM.org to rank the nation’s best STEM high schools among thousands of candidates.
