Rob Dunphy, a Penn State Abington student and an avid Eagles fan, discovered from friends that his shirtless picture from the team’s away game had gone viral due to the numerous Philly tattoos on his chest, writes Victor Fiorillo for Philadelphia Magazine.

“My phone actually died before I even got to the game, and then my friends and all of these people are telling me that I was on TV and all over the Internet,“ said Dunphy.

In addition to sport-related tattoos, some are specific to Philly. One is currently an outline of the city skyline that is waiting to be finished.

“I got all of these tattoos on my chest outlined at the same time, about three years ago,“ he said. “Once they get detailed, they come to life. And I need to add the Comcast building.“

When the current outlines are completed, Dunphy plans to continue adding tattoos to his chest, including one of Gritty. But not right away.

“I had a baby two months ago, so Gritty is on hold for a little bit,“ he said. Read more about Rob Dunphy at the Philadelphia Magazine by clicking here.
