Keisha Mulugeta-Gordon and Stephen Lenrow started on the path toward their dream wedding at a New Year’s celebration in Lower Merion a little over a decade ago, writes Kellie Patrick Gates for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

At the stroke of midnight, Lenrow noticed something interesting about Mulugeta-Gordon’s watch.

“My phone was in military time, and Stephen made a comment, ‘That’s really cool that it shows up as 0000,’” she said. “The next day, he messaged me on AOL Instant Messenger, asking if I got home safely.”

The pair started dating soon after, but they broke up unexpectedly several weeks later. They continued their relationship on and off through junior year of college, when they officially got back together.

Lenrow, who is now a senior software engineer at Comcast, proposed to  Mulugeta-Gordon, an OB-GYN resident at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, in December 2018.

The pair married at the Please Touch Museum. The day was truly a dream come true for the couple with fireworks going off multiple times throughout the night.

“We went 50 percent over on production costs, but it was well worth it,” said Mulugeta-Gordon.
