One of the best burgers in the region is just one of the many delicious draws to Ardmore’s Ripplewood Whiskey & Craft whiskey bar and restaurant, writes Craig LaBan for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 120-seat bar owned by Chef Biff Gottehrer’s and his partner, Peter S. Martin, has become one of the most compelling restaurants in the suburbs.

The establishment is a whiskey bar at heart, with more than 200 whiskeys on offer in multiple three-pour flights. The bar offers everything from locals like Dad’s Hat to top-shelf bourbon such as Elijah Craig 23 and Jefferson’s Ocean.

There are also smoothie-inspired drinks infused with carrot and avocado.

The food menu does not disappoint either. Gottehrer’s master-stack burger creation is layered with molten Gouda and slices of fried Lebanon bologna in a way that will satisfy even the most demanding patrons.

There is also a variety of comfort dishes to choose from, from tacos to wings and ribs, each elevated by an inventive homemade twist.

The desserts are just as impressive, including a half-brownie, half-chocolate chip cookie hybrid dessert, “Brookie.“
