The company, led by President and CEO Leon Singletary, is on the cutting edge when it comes to background checks, a vital necessity in today’s business world.

Aligned with celebrating its 15-year anniversary, First Contact HR was recently recognized by HR Tech Outlook magazine and highlighted in its May 2019 publication.

The company caught the magazine’s attention for its unique client service model and delivery of best-in-class background screening services through its HR Zoom technology platform.

“We can turn it around in one hour (locally) and 48 hours across the nation,” Singletary said.

Singletary went on to say, “When we did a launch in 2004, I was intrigued. I saw a gap in the (background checking) marketplace. People didn’t realize at the time it was going to be a growing trend. It’s what prompted me to start the business.”

Conducting background checks can be a tricky business. Accuracy is critical. An erroneous background check can present legal hurdles.
[gap height=”10″]
Among other things First Contact HR’s background checks have revealed include finding mis-matched Social Security numbers, questionable health insurance enrollment and other inaccuracies which should set off red flags for a prospective employer. There are the standard background checks, including criminal history and sexual predator status.

“You can’t do a background check on Google,” said Singletary, a Villanova University graduate. “If you do, you can get sued. Imagine if you did, and it was the wrong person?
[gap height=”10″]
“We are state-of-the-art, cutting-edge – because of the platforms we use. Our vision is to create a safer, more secure work environment in our communities.”
[gap height=”10″]
Is Singletary worried about being compared to Big Brother? No. Far from it.
[gap height=”10″]
“If that’s Big Brother – to protect our community – OK, we’re Big Brother, then. That’s OK.
[gap height=”10″]
“Information is power. It’s better than not knowing.” Ignorance is NOT bliss, when it comes to employee safety and a company’s security”
