Free “Touch a Truck” event in Norristown to feature 25 working vehicles

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office and the Norristown Municipal Police Department will be hosting a family-friendly Touch a Truck event.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and the Norristown Municipal Police Department will be hosting a “Touch a Truck” event at 1800 Markley Street in Norristown from 4 to 7 p.m., on Saturday, July 20, according to a press release.

This free family-friendly event will feature more than 25 different working vehicles used in the Norristown community.

Currently scheduled to be part of Touch a Truck are a police cruiser, crime scene truck, fire truck, SWAT Bearcat, dump truck and other construction vehicles, ambulance, SEPTA bus, and a state-of-the-art medical transport helicopter. Also on hand will be The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Pill Car, which will be accepting unwanted and expired and over the counter prescription medicines for safe disposal.

Touch a Truck will allow for kids and kids at heart to explore, touch, get into, and otherwise interact with these vehicles and their operators to learn how they work and what they do. Photography is permitted. Parental supervision is required.

The Touch a Truck event will also include a meet and greet for children and their families with Norristown Police, members of the District Attorney’s Office, and members of the Montgomery County Detective Bureau. Additionally several local restaurants will have food available for purchase.
