Montgomery County Commerce Department to launch Enhanced Economic Development Initiative

he Montgomery County Commerce Department will announce new enhancements to, MontcoForward, its economic development initiative and campaign, during a special event at Montgomery County Community College on Friday, May 3 at 10 AM.

The Montgomery County Commerce Department will announce new enhancements to,MontcoForward, its economic development initiative and campaign, during a special event at Montgomery County Community College on Friday, May 3 at 10AM.

MontcoForward is built around the need for a modern and all-inclusive approach to economic development that champions the importance of partnerships and collaboration along with stakeholder engagement.

The new MontcoForward video will be unveiled; the video utilizes the voices of local industry leaders and residents as champions talking about why Montco is the best place to live, work, learn, and invest.  The video was a first-time collaboration between the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board – the official Destination Marketing Organization for Montgomery County – and the Montgomery County Commerce Department. Montgomery County Director of Commerce David Zellers will also launch a new web-based platform for those seeking to start a business in, grow a business in, or find new opportunities to live, work, learn, and invest in Montgomery County. The website will give users valuable data about the area’s business climate, industry trends, customer demographics, competition, transportation, and more to assist in business development decision making

Scheduled to attend are  Montgomery County Commissioner Chair Valerie A. Arkoosh, Commissioner Vice Chair Kenneth E. Lawrence Jr., Commissioner Joseph C. Gale, Director of Commerce David Zellers, Jr., Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board President & CEO Mike Bowman, Montgomery County Community College VP of Academic Affairs and Provost Dr. Victoria Bastecki-Perez, SEI Global Leader of Workforce Development Colleen Stratton, and Montgomery County Physician Dr. Francis Jeyaraj.

A kick-off event for the Commerce Department’s enhanced MontcoForward initiative will be Friday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Montgomery County Community College, College Hall, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell. Hear from industry leaders and elected officials on what makes Montco the best place to live, work, learn, and invest.
