It hasn’t been held in the U.S. in three decades, but in 2019, the FTD World Cup, the world’s most prestigious floral competition, will be the centerpiece of the Philadelphia Flower Show.

The FTD World Cup is held every four to six years around the world, but it has not been held in the United States since 1985, writes Kenneth Hilario at bizjournals.com.

The theme for the 2019 show, March 2-10, is “Flower Power,” where designers across 10 acres of show floor of the Pennsylvania Convention Center will interpret how flowers affect people’s lives, PHS officials announced Thursday.

FTD, by the way, stands for  Florists’ Transworld Delivery.

Cities that have previously hosted the World Cup include Berlin, Germany, in 2015; Melbourne, Australia, in 2004; and Stockholm, Sweden, in 1993.
