Kathy Brandon regularly mixed warmth with leadership in her seven-year tenure as president of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. So it was no surprise that her recent retirement party took the shape of an open house and a homecoming of sorts for dozens of longtime friends,, writes Gary Puleo at timesherald.com.

Brandon, who lives in Lower Providence with her family, said she needed to find another blank wall in her home to house all the new citations she received.

The recent recognition that touched Brandon the most was the formation of a scholarship in her name for the Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week.

“That was really awesome because that’s a program that has really touched my heart. I’ve been the adviser there for about 15 years,” Brandon said. “It’s an entrepreneurship program for juniors and seniors throughout Pennsylvania. It’s a phenomenal program and most of the school districts in our area that we cover participate and send students on a yearly basis.”
