When Norristown Small Business Assistance Center (NSBAC) hosts “Starting Your Business in Norristown” workshop on Tuesday, March 20, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Montgomery County- Norristown Library it will be the organization’s latest of many efforts to champion Norristown as an ideal place for doing business.
Business consultant Malyka Sankofa, who heads up the organization, noted that the town’s willingness to boost the entrepreneurial spirit reminds her of the West Philadelphia University City area where she grew up, writes Gary Puleo in The Times Herald.
NSBAC business consultant Brian Smith noted, “I worked with over 100 clients, providing direction, guidance and coaching support, and helping with Business Plans (using the Business Model Canvas) and helped support Norristown loan clients Temeka Murray (Diva’s Eatery), Kym Ramsey (The Willow School), Wanda Jones (VIP Cosmetology), Jasmine Jones (Prestige Play and Learn) and Chris Nguyen (Bahn Mi Bistro).
NSBAC has also connected Norristown clients to TEC (Transitional Education Center) programs, including Temeka Murray (ELevate!), Kemal Cox (ELevate!), Ameahl McIntyre (Launch PAD), Kelly Washington (Launch PAD), Daniel Lopez (Construction Consortium), Mumbi Dunjwa (WURD Holiday event, Networking with ELevate! clients Giovan Lane and Vaishali Ketkar.)
