Construction is set to begin in late April on King of Prussia’s First Avenue Road Diet, a safety improvement project for motorists and pedestrians coordinated by the King of Prussia District (KOP-BID) and Upper Merion Township.
KOP-BID will host a public information session and open house about the roadway improvements Wednesday, April 4, from 1- 3: p.m. at the Freedom Conference Center, 1st Floor, 630 Freedom Business Center Drive, according to a press release.

Property owners, business owners, residents, and employees who use First Avenue are encouraged to stop by and review the plans. A brief presentation on the project and group questions will be held from from 1-1:30 p.m., followed by a a drop-in open house for those who want to review plans and ask individual questions.
A second public information session will be held Thursday, April 5, during the Upper Merion Board of Supervisors’ workshop at 7:30 p.m. in the Upper Merion Township Building, 175 West Valley Forge Road.
The Road Diet project will reduce the hazardous four-lane road to three lanes consisting of a lane of traffic in each direction and a dedicated center turn lane, with bicycle lanes or a wider shoulder. The project will also include a mid-block signalized pedestrian crosswalk between 935 and 1000 First Ave.
