Victim Services Center (VSC) is launching a three year endowment campaign to raise $250,000 which, together with a $50,000 Challenge Grant from the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation, will make the total Endowment Fund $300,000.

VSC is one of only two nonprofit organizations selected to participate in the Phoenixville Incentive for Endowment. The VSC Board of Directors, staff and supporters are excited to have this opportunity to develop a permanent endowment fund to sustain VSC’s services into the future.

VSC is now reaching out to the Montgomery County community for support today to ensure services for tomorrow.

VSC’s  mission is to provide advocacy and counseling for all who have been affected by sexual violence and other crimes against the person and to promote sensitivity and awareness in the community through education.

In fiscal year 2016-2017, VSC served  more than 2,200 victims of sexual assault, sexual harassment, child abuse and other violent crimes.

VSC’s Education Specialists conducted over 800 child abuse and anti-bullying prevention education programs in elementary schools and safety/risk reduction programs in colleges, universities and senior centers and also provided training to professionals for state mandated reporting of child abuse.

VSC’s 24/7 crisis hotline has been busy with an increase in calls from victims in the aftermath of the sexual harassment and sexual assault cases reported in the media and the “#Me too” movement  which has empowered survivors to speak out about their abuse. VSC is here to serve the survivors, many of whom are experiencing emotional distress as their own trauma of victimization is triggered by the reports and discussion. VSC’s services are available to victims and their loved ones at no cost.

VSC’s Endowment Fund Steering Committee is planning a Taco Tuesday fundraising event for April 2018.  Details of the fundraising event will be posted on VSC’s website.  The community is invited to attend and support VSC’s Endowment Campaign.

Donations can be made to VSC’s Endowment Fund on its website www.victimservicescenter.org

For more information, call Mary Onama, LMSW VSC Executive Director at 610-277-0932 ext. 233.

VSC thanks the community for its support of the Endowment Campaign.
