Einstein Healthcare Network is now one of the first networks, if not the first, to help eliminate some of those concerns by demonstrating ways of decreasing the variability of CT (Computed Tomography) radiation dose.

With the help of radiologists and technologists across the network, Dr. Ryan Lee, Director of Quality at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, and Dr. Terence Matalon, Chair of Radiology for Einstein Healthcare Network, conducted a lengthy study that was recently published in the Journal of the American College of Radiology, writes Gary Puleo in The Times Herald.

The men’s research also demonstrated a very slight variation in dose between Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in East Norriton and all other sites in the network.

“We currently have 13 CT scans at many different locations throughout the Philadelphia and surrounding area, and no matter where a patient goes in the Einstein system they are going to receive exactly the same kind of study, regardless of the site or the scanner,” Matalon said.
