Patina, a Bala Cynwyd-based primary care provider for older adults, is looking to bring its “patient-centered” model of care to more parts of Pennsylvania, writes John George for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Patina already serves members in the five counties of the Philadelphia region and now the company wants to expand its presence into Berks, Lancaster, and Lehigh counties.

Patina focuses on providing patients with telemedicine and in-home visits, cutting back on the need to be in the doctor’s office or hospital.

Patina co-founder and CEO Jack Stoddard said, “When you [are] not feeling well, why should you have to drive to a clinic and be around other people who are sick.”

He explained that each member is assigned to a dedicated team that not only includes a primary care doctor, but also a ‘health champion,’ who helps with scheduling appointments and accessing specialist care when needed.

“Our mission is to transform health care, ensuring it is a personalized and holistic experience,” he said.
