King of Prussia’s Greenphire and mProve Health have joined forces to make it easier for patients to stay in clinical trials, writes John George for Philadelphia Business Journal.

In a world where technology and convenience go hand-in-hand, Greenphire focuses on automated clinical trial payments with ClinCard. This web-based, a reloadable debit card makes reimbursements easier for patients who are enrolled in clinical research studies.

Meanwhile, mProve has created an app called mPal that gives patients valuable information, including reminders of medication and study appointments. Now participants in clinical trials using ClinCard receive real-time access to their payment history and their balance directly through the mPal app.

“We are two companies with a similar mission,” said Jim Murphy, CEO of Greenphire. “We are trying to make it as easy as possible for patients, once they are recruited and engaged, to stay enrolled in the clinical trial until the end.”

It is Murphy’s belief that this will strengthen the Montgomery County company and enhance Greenphire’s effort to lessen the financial impediments that often affect clinical trial participation.

He also noted that while the partnership agreement is an exclusive alliance, no money will change hands.
