The Villanova graduate plays an NCIS agent who was previously commissioned as a U.S. Army second lieutenant with two tours in Afghanistan under her belt. Bello’s character is the agency’s top forensic psychologist whose job is to “second-guess and challenge” Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Mark Harmon.

“We have always been big fans of Maria Bello’s work and are excited to be introducing her as an agent who not only has distinct talent, but also a unique relationship with Gibbs,” said NCIS executive producers George Schenck and Frank Cardea.

Prior to this, Bello played Michelle McBride, the ex-wife and partner in the law firm of Billy McBride in Amazon’s Goliath.

In addition to her rich career as an actress in both movies and on television, Bello is also a prolific writer, and a passionate social activist and supporter of the relief efforts in Haiti.
