People looking to exercise in Montgomery County will soon have more options, as Life Time Fitness is opening three locations in the region, writes Suzette Parmley for Philly.com.

The gyms, opening in Ardmore, Fort Washington, and King of Prussia, mark Life Time’s entry into the Pennsylvania market. Metro Commercial negotiated all three leases on behalf of the health and wellness company.

“We are thrilled to partner with Life Time Fitness as they continue their expansion into the Pennsylvania market,” said Tom Londres, President and CEO at Metro Commercial.

The company’s 79,000-square-feet Ardmore location at Suburban Square will open in the fall.

The Fort Washington 105,000-square-feet gym should open this spring and includes an outdoor swimming pool.

But the largest will be in King of Prussia, spanning three stories with over 136,000-square-feet.

“The new Life Time Fitness locations were strategically chosen in regions of the Philadelphia suburbs that are currently experiencing growth due to thriving economic development,” explained Rob Cooper, Senior Vice President of Brokerage Services at Metro Commercial.

Smaller gyms such as SoulCycle have also been gaining traction as more intimate alternatives to the larger gyms from LA Fitness and similar franchises.
