IKEA U.S., which has its U.S. headquarters in Conshohocken, is donating 5,000 beds and bedding to refugees through its 5,000 Dreams campaign.

Showing its increasing diversity including now offering bicycles, IKEA has added a line of smart lighting to its product range, writes Chris Matyszczyk for Inc.

The Swedish furniture giant, which has its U.S. headquarters in Conshohocken, is well known for producing stylish furniture at affordable prices. But this of course comes with investing the time and effort in putting it together.

Now, IKEA is taking away the effort part and giving its customers the option of adjusting the brightness of their lights with a simple, portable puck.

IKEA’s Trådfri can be rotated left or right to achieve the right level of lighting for your needs, without having to leave the comfort of your chair or bed.

The puck is aimed at the growing ‘smart’ house market. It is easy to use and comes in several colors such as white, black, and bright yellow.

While the first two options may look better with furniture, the concept behind the yellow version is that it is less likely to blend in and get misplaced.

This once again displays IKEA’s understanding of its consumer base, as we all know there is nothing more frustrating than being unable to find our home comfort devices.
