Fun Employment Opportunity at Elmwood Park Zoo

By

Nearly three dozen vendors join Elmwood Park Zoo as it hosts its seventh annual “Party for the Planet” event Saturday, April 27, from 10 AM to 3 PM.

If you are looking for a fun job opportunity, Elmwood Park Zoo is holding tryouts for Adventure Guides at Treetop Adventures, its popular zip line and ropes park.

During the tryouts, anyone interested is granted free admission to a small section of the course and given the opportunity to submit an application for the job.

This new approach to finding Adventure Guides has been adopted in the hope of attracting outdoor enthusiasts and thrill seekers looking to combine their passion with steady employment.

Adventure Guides interact with customers on and off the course during the day. Applicants must be capable of maneuvering through the trees and physically working in them throughout the work day. They also have to provide excellent customer service and be able to work flexible hours.

The first Treetop Adventure tryouts were held on April 6, while the second and final session is scheduled for April 15 from 5 p.m. to sundown.

Anyone interested in applying for the job needs to be dressed in close-toed shoes and active clothing to be allowed to participate on the course. On-site interviews may also be conducted after the course run is completed. Several openings are available.

More information about the Treetop Adventures tryouts is available at 610-277-3827.
