NBC-10’s Bala Cynwyd studio has been put for sale in preparation for a move to the new Comcast Technology Center under construction in Center City.

The Bala Cynwyd building that houses NBC10’s television studio has been put up for sale in preparation for the stations’ move into its new premises in the new Comcast Technology Center currently under construction in Center City, writes Natalie Kostelni for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The 97,614-square-foot building has been a broadcasting studio for over six decades and was one of the first buildings designed specifically for television broadcasting and production.

The property at the intersection of Monument Road with City Avenue is in a high-profile location near City Avenue which was recently rezoned to attract pedestrian-friendly mixed-use development. This should make the 5.12 acre site attractive for developers.

“There aren’t many television stations looking for a studio in Bala Cynwyd,” said Bob Corr, a broker with Binswanger who is handling the sale with colleague Marc Policarpo.

“We will be marketing it to developers and there are some users in the market looking for headquarters space. No stone will be left unturned.”

To help with the sale, Binswanger has hired an architect to do a study on potential uses for the site after the building is demolished. However, no price has yet been set.
