Trump Name Putting Women Off Buying Ivanka’s Clothing Line in Montgomery County

By

Several stores in Montgomery County have noticed a significant drop in sales of Ivanka Trump’s clothing line since the presidential election.

Carrying the Trump name following the controversial election result is causing issues for Ivanka’s clothing line in stores nationwide including  Bala Cynwyd, King of Prussia’s Lord & Taylor stores and two T.J. Maxx’s on the Main Line, writes Elizabeth Wellington for The Columbian.

Ivanka Trump’s wearable, affordable and cute line has hit a roadblock thanks to the negative feelings many woman now associate with the name. This began after the leaked audio tapes of Trump making inappropriate comments about his treatment of women.

Bay Area marketing consultant, Sharon Coulter, is one of the instigators of the revolt and the creator of #grabyourwallet. She is not only suggesting ignoring Ivanka’s brand, but is advising stores that carry it to drop the label.

The #grabyourwallet tweets have gained momentum after Coulter’s story was featured on Joy Reid’s MSNBC Sunday morning news show.

“Uh, no way,” said Louise Rice, a shopper at the Bala Cynwyd store who was considering some Trump pumps. “They were so nice, but when I saw that name, I just threw them down like they were on fire.”
