The new Harleysville shopping center at the intersection of routes 113 and 63, is bringing businesses flocking to the area, with Citadel Federal and Tractor Supply already open, and several more due to move in once construction of the two new buildings is complete, writes Bob Keeler for Montgomery Media.

The official ribbon-cutting and Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce business card exchange took place at the new Citadel Federal location on September 28 although it opened about a month earlier. Tractor Supply opened its doors at the shopping center in July.

One of the businesses moving into the center is Harleysville Dairy Queen, with owner Chris Samsel giving out samples at the event.

He noted that the current Harleysville Dairy Queen would be closing and relocating to the center in February alongside Tractor Supply, Citadel and another new arrival, Mattress Warehouse.

The new Dairy Queen will include a drive-thru which will require some additional hires.

“Right now, we have about 10 employees,” said Samsel. “We’ll probably double that at the new location.”
