From Ardmore to Upper Merion, Montco’s Farmers Markets Are Back for the Season

From Ardmore to King of Prussia, these Montgomery County farmers markets offer fresh produce, local vendors and prepared foods.

Farmers market season is in full swing across the region, writes Anne E. Hill for Main Line Today.

Montco is home to several markets where shoppers can find fresh produce, baked goods, prepared foods, and other locally made products. From indoor markets open year-round to seasonal outdoor gatherings, these destinations offer plenty of options for stocking the kitchen with local flavor.

In Ardmore, the Ardmore Farmers Market operates year-round inside Suburban Square, offering a variety of gourmet and specialty foods. Vendors include Stoltzfus Bakery, Tabouli and Aziatisch, making it a popular stop for both quick lunches and dinner-party ingredients.

Over in Bala Cynwyd, the Bala Cynwyd Farmers Market takes place on Wednesday afternoons from May through October. The midweek market features vendors such as Honey Mouth, Triple Bottom Brewing, HotBox Philly, and Rocco’s Treats.

The Bryn Mawr Farmers Market brings the classic outdoor farmers market experience to Lancaster Avenue near the Bryn Mawr train station. Open Saturdays throughout most of the year, it hosts vendors including Birchrun Hills Farm, Deer Creek Malthouse and Philly Fair Trade Roasters.

Meanwhile, the Upper Merion Farmers Market at Nor-View Farm features dozens of vendors and rotating food trucks during its seasonal Saturday market.
