More than 1,500 runners and walkers laced up this year — and made history doing it. The 20th Annual Valley Forge Revolutionary 5-Mile Run and 2-Mile Walk raised a record-breaking $100,000 for Valley Forge National Historical Park, marking the largest donation in the event’s history.

This milestone year also marked record-breaking participation and sponsorship support, underscoring the continued growth and community investment in the event while driving the highest give-back to the Park in its 20-year history.

One hundred percent of race proceeds benefit Valley Forge National Historical Park. Since its inception in 2006, Rev Run has raised more than $800,000 for Park infrastructure improvement projects and programming to enhance visitor experience. Proceeds from 2026 are planned to support Historic Philadelphia Inc. programming in the park during the summer months, provide shuttle service throughout the park on the 4th of July weekend, and fund operational support for Valley Forge NHP’s 50th birthday celebration this summer.

“I’m so proud of how this race has grown into a favorite within our community—where community remains the heart of it all,” said Kirsten Tallman, Race Director. “As we celebrate 20 years, this truly feels like a historic year on all fronts and a reflection of just how much the event has grown over time. There’s a deep appreciation for the Park, and seeing everyone come together in one place on race day to celebrate is truly a powerful and moving experience. Each year, the race continues to evolve, offering a meaningful opportunity for stewardship and connection to the park—just as it was designed to do 20 years ago.”

Pre-event remarks at a Start Line Experience, hosted by Highmark, kicked off the 5-mile race and 2-mile walk. The 2-Mile Walk portion of the event was sponsored by Elmwood Park Zoo. The exclusive Finish Line Experience, also sponsored by Highmark, hosted post-race festivities including food and beer trucks, 30+ vendors, a live-action artist, and more.

All participants received a finisher medal or walk challenge coin and a special 20th Anniversary Revolutionary Run commemorative t-shirt. Cash prizes with a purse totaling $1,400 were awarded to the top three male and female finishers of the in-person portion of the race. New this year, the top three male and female finishers for each age group were awarded a Rev Run-branded hat.

In addition to the in-person events, the VFTCB offers a virtual component of the race where registrants can participate virtually from anywhere in the world between April 19 and April 25. The Park has a significant economic impact on the region, generally contributing more than $40 million and several hundred jobs to the local economy.
