Guppy’s Owners Bringing New Restaurant Concept to Conshohocken

Rick’s Tavern, a new Italian eatery from Guppy’s owners, is opening this spring in Conshohocken at the former Pizza Time site.

A new restaurant is set to join Conshohocken’s dining scene this spring, bringing a mix of Italian flavors and local nostalgia, writes Justin Heinze for Patch.

From the owners of Guppy’s Good Times, Rick’s Tavern is expected to open in May at the former home of Pizza Time Saloon. The new concept aims to honor the space’s history while introducing a refreshed menu and atmosphere.

Alongside classic Pizza Time pies, the restaurant will feature house-made pastas, a curated wine and cocktail list, and an updated interior with brick and wood finishes designed to reflect the character of Conshohocken.

Chef Derek Davis will lead the kitchen. Davis’ background includes stops at Sonoma, Derek’s, and Kansas City Prime. Ownership says the goal is to create a neighborhood destination that blends elevated dining with an approachable, community-focused feel.

In addition to dine-in service, Rick’s Tavern plans to offer takeout, delivery, catering, and private event space, positioning it as a versatile new option for Montco diners.

For Conshohocken, the opening continues the borough’s steady growth as a hub for new restaurants and local favorites.
