Two Montgomery County coaches started Coach’s Sports Cards in Hatboro to ensure that kids have a place to hang out when they are not playing, reports Bob Kelly for FOX 29 Philadelphia.

Co-owners Bill and Mike were both coaching Little League when they got the idea to start a business together.

“Basically, what we wanted to do was find a place where kids could come hang out, play video games, and not be out in the streets,” said Bill.

However the shop offers more than just sports cards.

Disney cards, Pokemon cards, Marvel cards,” said Bill. “Pokemon cards are through the roof.”

The SpongeBob 1/1 scratch card signed by the artist, selling for $600 to $1,000, is one of the shop’s most popular items. Patrons can purchase packs or individual cards, some valued in the thousands of dollars.

The shop also serves as a place for parents to connect with their children, as long as the cost of the hobby remains unspoken.
