Bryn Mawr’s Michael Rubin Launches First Fanatics Collectibles Store with Formula 1 Flair

Bryn Mawr’s Michael Rubin launches Fanatics’ flagship store in London, with Lewis Hamilton drawing massive crowds at the grand opening.

Bryn Mawr native Michael Rubin called on Formula 1 superstar Lewis Hamilton to make the new Fanatics flagship store unforgettable, writes Trace William Cowen for Complex.

Thousands of fans packed London’s Regent Street on Friday for the debut of the first-ever Fanatics Collectibles flagship store. The 9,000-square-foot shop is a new hub for trading card brands like Topps, Bowman, Merlin, and Match Attax, offering a retail space, a breaking studio, and even a card creation suite.

Rubin, founder and CEO of Fanatics, called the opening “absolutely insane” in an Instagram post showing the crowds Hamilton drew.

The London flagship also holds an exclusive: it’s the only place fans can snag the Lights Out 2025: Formula 1 75th Anniversary premium card set. Beyond rare trading cards, the store also features apparel, memorabilia, and special weekend giveaways — including chances to win one-of-a-kind autograph cards.

It’s another big move for Rubin, who grew up in Montgomery County before building Fanatics into a global force in sports merchandise and collectibles.
