Bald Birds Brewing Co. is taking over the former Workhorse Brewing facility in King of Prussia, scaling both its taproom footprint and contract manufacturing arm, writes Emma Dooling for The Philadelphia Business Journal.
The move brings Bald Birds Brewing into the 47,000-square-foot brewery at 250 King Manor Drive, long known as Workhorse Brewing Co.
While the Workhorse brand is not part of the deal, Bald Birds has operated the space under Workhorse’s license since August and received its own licensing in late December.
A gradual rebrand is underway, with a grand reopening eyed for March, while the taproom remains open.
Founded by Joe and Abby Feerrar, Bald Birds debuted in Audubon in 2018 before expanding to Jersey Shore. The King of Prussia site offers production capacity of roughly 30,000 barrels annually and room for expanded private events, including weddings and larger gatherings.
Beyond beer, the location will anchor B3 Beverage Co., Bald Birds’ contract manufacturing venture with Yards Brewing Co. and Two Roads Brewing, supporting everything from craft beer to RTD cocktails.
With recent acquisitions including Heavy Seas Beer and Casey Jones Distillery, the King of Prussia expansion positions Bald Birds as both a local taproom draw and a behind-the-scenes powerhouse.
