A major redevelopment effort along City Avenue has reached another milestone with the opening of Blayr, a new 217-unit residential building in Bala Cynwyd.
Federal Realty Investment Trust announced the debut of the property at 145 E. City Avenue. Blayr serves as the second residential component delivered as part of its ongoing remake of Bala Cynwyd on City Avenue. With Blayr now open, Federal Realty’s total investment in the site is approaching $170 million, including more than 300 residential units and about 190,000 square feet of retail space.
The new building features studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. The units come with upscale finishes such as quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, in-unit washers and dryers. Select homes have private outdoor spaces.
Residents also have access to amenities including an outdoor pool, fitness center, golf and multisport simulator, work-from-home suites, pet spa, garage parking, and EV charging stations.
Blayr also ties into broader efforts to create a more walkable, mixed-use section of the City Avenue corridor. The property connects to the Cynwyd Heritage Trail and sits within walking distance of SEPTA’s Cynwyd Line.
The project arrives as more retail activity is underway. Chopt, Hammer & Nails Grooming Shop, and Naya are expected to open this summer.
