King of Prussia District marked a milestone year for its annual KOP Takes Out Hunger initiative, presenting the Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard (UMACC) with a record $50,410 donation and collecting 6,881 pounds of nonperishable food items through community-wide support.
The contributions reflect the extraordinary generosity of local businesses, residents, and event participants who rallied together to help neighbors facing food insecurity.
King of Prussia District’s 14th Annual KOP Takes Out Hunger Food Drive ran from Nov. 1 to Dec. 2. Businesses and corporate buildings across King of Prussia stepped up in a significant way, hosting a record 45 donation boxes and collecting more than double the amount collected last year.
Complementing the food drive was the return of the beloved pop-up takeout dining activation, Igloo Garden on the Green, held Nov. 4-18 in King of Prussia Town Center. This year’s event featured six heated igloos, thoughtfully furnished and decorated by AVE King of Prussia and Ethan Allen. Guests enjoyed personal Bluetooth speakers, cozy blankets, heating, and festive lighting that transformed each igloo into a winter sanctuary. Community turnout exceeded expectations, with nights and weekends booked solid throughout the run. More than 2,100 guests participated, all dining in support of UMACC.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of donors and guests, Igloo Garden on the Green has raised $126,998 over the past three years to support local families in need. This year’s total alone reflects a 59 percent increase from the 2024 donation and equates to approximately 25,500 pounds of food.
King of Prussia District’s KOP Takes Out Hunger Food Drive and Igloo Garden on the Green are co-produced with Conlin’s Print and presented by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s King of Prussia Campus. The event is made possible through the generous support of Zippy Shell, Eigen X, Radial, Brandywine Realty Trust, King of Prussia Town Center, Pro Team Collision, Valley Forge Casino Resort, AVE King of Prussia, Ethan Allen, Parker Plants & Holiday, Riehl Structures, and OpenTable.
