Six months into his role as president and CEO of Main Line Health, Ed Jimenez is outlining a clear set of priorities for the healthcare system, writes Gina Lizzo for Main Line Today.
Jimenez took the helm in June after nearly 30 years in healthcare leadership, arriving from University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.
At the top of Jimenez’s agenda is employee engagement. He has emphasized that caring for staff is essential to maintaining high-quality care. Alongside that focus is a continued push for clinical excellence, with the goal of delivering care that not only rivals major urban hospitals but, in some cases, exceeds it.
Staff safety has also emerged as a key priority. Main Line Health has expanded the use of security alert buttons for its more than 14,000 employees. Upgrading this infrastructure allows alerts to function in garages and outdoor areas as well as inside facilities.
Technology is another area of growth. The system is rolling out AI-powered ambient listening tools to reduce physician documentation time and is using artificial intelligence in radiology to flag urgent scans more quickly.
Jimenez believes the system’s strength lies in combining elite medical care with a community-centered approach.
