Brandywine Conservancy Ends Historic Tenure Operating Radnor Hunt Races

With next year’s Radnor Hunt Races, Brandywine Conservancy will be ending its tenure as the operator of the beloved equestrian race tradition.

With next year’s Radnor Hunt Races, Brandywine Conservancy will be ending its tenure as the operator of the beloved Main Line equestrian race tradition, writes Anne E. Hill for the Main Line Today

While saddened by the news, the races look back fondly on the decades of support from the conservancy.

“For the last 45 years, the Brandywine has been proud to play a leadership role in this storied event,” said Virginia Logan, the Frolic Weymouth executive director and CEO of the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art. “With the centennial running of the races approaching in a few years, it is now time for the Brandywine to pass the baton on to a new operator to continue the tradition of the Radnor Hunt Races into the event’s next century.”

The conservancy plans to make the 2026 races the strongest in the event’s 95-year history as it moves into its new chapter. Tickets for the final edition that support the Brandywine Conservancy will be available on March 3 for the races scheduled on May 16, 2026.

Over the last four and a half decades, the event has generated more than $5.5 million for the conservancy’s open space and clean water efforts.
