Her Favorite Things is holding its first-ever Ambler Festival of Trees at the Ambler Theater this weekend, raising funds to help provide trees for single mothers who may need a helping hand, reports Jennaphr Frederick for FOX 29 Philadelphia.
“Her Favorite Thing was founded about a year and a half ago, but it was a dream of mine for years,” said Denise Sabia, Founder and Director of Her Favorite Things. “When I found myself as a single mom, so many people in the community stepped in to help me out. It was so heartwarming, wonderful, and great things happened, and I knew I always wanted to give back.”
Those who require a tree can get nominations from friends, family, or through self-nomination.
“During the Christmas season, we give out Christmas trees to single moms who need it, and all you need to do is contact me,” said Sabia. “It’s really Scout’s honor. I believe you. We give a little token, and you bring it to the local Christmas tree farm, and you leave with the tree.”
Many local businesses supporting the initiative have decorated trees for the festival, which is open to visitors for free.
