Orchestra Life Sciences is moving its headquarters from Montreal in Canada, to the Philadelphia Navy Yard as it prepares for rapid growth, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The firm, which supports pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies developing therapies for cancer and rare diseases, currently has more than 60 employees around the world and expects to add another 20 employees at the Navy Yard by the end of next year.
“Philadelphia is really unique in terms of innovation,” said Emilie Pelletier, the company’s co-founder and CEO. “And the Navy Yard a really strong epicenter of innovation in a biotech corridor with world class universities, and a thriving mix of scientific and manufacturing operations talent close by.”
Orchestra offers services in business and operations strategy, facility design and automation, manufacturing and supply chain planning, and regulatory compliance. Since its inception in 2022, the firm has assisted more than 60 Big Pharma companies and startups.
“We’re definitely planning to expand rapidly,” said Pelletier, who relocated to Philadelphia to establish the new office.
Pelletier brings familiarity with the Navy Yard from her previous position at Iovance Biotherapeutics, which maintains a manufacturing plant there.
