Bobby Chez Gourmet To Go, a seafood store at the Village at Newtown shopping center, announced it will be closing its doors for good.

Bobby Chez Gourmet To Go, a gourmet to-go seafood store at the Village at Newtown shopping center, is closing, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.

“After serving our wonderful community for the past few years, we are very sad to announce that Bobby Chez Gourmet To Go will be closing its doors,” said the business.

The takeout eatery best known for its freshly made lump crab cakes will serve customers for the final time on Friday, Oct. 31.

“It’s with a very heavy heart that we announce this, but we wanted to thank all of all loyal customers for your continued support,” wrote owners Keith and Andrea Schultz. “We have made such amazing friends and memories over these last 2 1/2 years. We are filled with gratitude for every visit and every conversation shared and we truly loved every minute of it.”

The couple opened the South Jersey-based store in Bucks County in 2023, offering the famous handmade lump crab cakes and other fresh seafood specialties. The original Bobby Chez Seafood Specialties store opened in Voorhees, New Jersey, in 1997.
