Small Businesses in Ambler Leverage Black Friday to Strengthen Connections with Loyal Customers and Attract New Ones

Local small businesses throughout Ambler used the busy Black Friday weekend to strengthen relationships with loyal customers.

With Black Friday sales attracting many early seasonal shoppers, small towns like Ambler are using the opportunity to strengthen relationships with loyal customers, write Josh Sanders and Brad Nau for CBS News.

Butler Avenue in Ambler is always a bustling hub, especially during the holiday season.

“I want people to come in, feel welcomed, feel loved,” said Phyllis Greco Bucci, owner of Ambler’s Holistic Apothecary.

Bucci emphasized Black Friday is about more than just sales, it is also about building relationships with the customers she considers “family.”

Many Ambler shoppers, including Hannah Willans, are grateful for that personal touch.

“Coming here to Ambler, I know a lot of people who own the businesses,” said Willans. “They put a lot of work into their stores, and they care about their businesses. They remember your name when you go in.”

For Gene McGonagle, owner of Ambler Flower Shop, Black Friday holds special meaning thanks to their loyal customers.

“We know them,” said McGonagle. “We know them by name. It’s really a big day because people are out and they are deliberately choosing to support main street businesses like mine.”
