Newtown-based Exact Solar, founded by Mark and Dara Bortman, is celebrating twenty years of installing solar systems throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, writes Aaron Nichols for the Solar Power World.
The company was founded after the couple, who had spent a year in Costa Rica gaining hands-on experience in solar energy projects, returned to Pennsylvania and noticed a gap in local solar services. Beyond meeting that demand, they believed solar power could positively impact families and communities.
Over the years, their small business has grown steadily and is now recognized as a trusted provider in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Exact Solar has also appeared on SPW’s Top Solar Contractors List multiple times.
In the past twenty years, the company has installed over 20 MW of solar capacity and completed more than 2,500 projects for homes, schools, nonprofits and businesses throughout the region.
“We are grateful for the trust so many have placed in us and inspired by the impact we have created together,” said Doug Edwards, the company’s president. “We are more committed than ever to carrying that spirit into the next two decades, continuing to grow, to learn, and to serve.”
