Abington shoppers will soon have a new destination for deep discounts on everyday essentials, writes Justin Heinze for Patch.
California-based discount grocery chain, Grocery Outlet, is set to open its newest Montgomery County store at 1441 Old York Road in the Abington Shopping Center. It will fill the former Rite Aid space. Doors open on November 6.
Known for slashing 40 to 70 percent off brand-name products, Grocery Outlet offers both staples and specialty items. Shoppers can expect deals on fresh produce, meat, dairy, and pantry basics.
It will also have a dedicated “NOSH” section featuring natural, organic, specialty, and healthy choices like gluten-free and plant-based products. Bargain hunters will also find selections of cheese, meats, and seasonal goods.
The Abington site joins Grocery Outlet’s other nearby locations in Lansdale, Warminster, and Jamison. With more than 400 stores nationwide—including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland—the retailer continues to expand its footprint in the Mid-Atlantic.
